Reporting to the CEO, the person appointed to this key position will take overall responsibility for driving all aspects of SACO-AEI Polymers’ Technological activities. This is a leadership role with critical input on team creation, policy formation, project execution and resource allocation. The individual will partner across the Business, Technology, Sourcing, and Operations organizations in Sheboygan WI, Aurora OH and Sandwich UK to resource and drive projects, provide Technical Service support and improve quality systems. As we grow our product portfolio, this position will have a major role in selecting investment in and deploying new internal laboratory facilities and identifying and resourcing appropriate external partner activities (Universities and laboratories).
The Director of Technology will be responsible for all activities of the Technology organization including hiring, setting budgets, supervising team leaders and setting policy. In addition the incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

Skills associated with graduate degree (PhD or possibly MS Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Technology or Polymer Engineering) with a minimum of 15 years’ experience with increasing responsibility. Demonstrated ability in direct leadership and team formation. Working for at least some period in a development position in the wire and cable or compound supply industry is important.
