  • Overview

    As an Associate Chemist you will utilizes sound technical knowledge of materials, processes, and products to accomplish the following:

    • Perform routine and non-routine testing utilizing numerous analytical instruments
    • Improve existing product performance
    • Develop new products
    • Optimize production quality and output
    • Reduce costs
    • Write detailed technical reports to communicate findings to Senior Management and Commercial Team

    Responsibilities

    This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.  Project objectives are well defined, and involve

    • Extension of present technology, involving improvement of products, processes
    • Development of new polymeric compounds for existing and new markets and new knowledge.
    • Trouble shooting in-house production processes
    • Investigating customer technical concerns
    • Supporting the commercial team with timely technical service support  

    Additionally the Incumbent may supervise work of R&D / QA Technicians during project assignments.

    Qualifications

    Skills associated with BS Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Technology or Polymer Engineering. One to two years’ work experience preferred.

    • Familiarity with the compounding, processing and testing of polyolefins
    • Basic understanding of statistical methods and experimental design techniques
    • Experience in writing internal technical reports
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Proficiency with the MS Office suite of programs
