  • Overview

    Under Maintenance Supervisor’s direction, the Maintenance Coordinator administers and coordinates maintenance inventory, software and ERP systems, work instructions, inventory lists and LOTO procedures.


     This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time:


    • Organize and monitor current spare parts and inventory areas.
    • Learn the maintenance portion of QAD program once it is installed. Teach system to others.
    • Enter more detailed information into the maintenance software to make it as useful as possible (including model and serial numbers of all equipment).
    • Train off shift maintenance technicians on various tasks as needed so all crew members are completing tasks in the same manner.
    • Assign equipment numbers to incoming new equipment and facility components.
    • Assist in creation of new lock out / tag out procedures for new equipment and updates to existing.
    • Assist and oversee complete preventative maintenance (PM) schedules for new equipment and update for existing equipment.
    • Write Departmental work instructions for routine maintenance tasks.
    • Serve as a back-up to Maintenance Assistant (MA). MA orders MRO items and production indirect supplies for both plants. Controls distribution to supervisors.
    • Order and stage materials and parts for project work for all disciplines at both plants. Have these items ready for installation when time is available.
    • Oversee proper maintenance of our own tools, lifts, and support equipment.
    • Update electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics and prints as required
    • Organize and plan preventive maintenance schedules.
    • Assist in tracking work order expenditures, material used, and work performed
    • Complete required maintenance reports.
    • Maintain parts and equipment inventory records.
    • Use computer based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, delegates maintenance resources to manage maintenance inventory
    • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
    • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
    • Determines material and equipment needed and availability
    • Serve as emergency technician should the need arise
    • Willingness to work overtime and on weekends if required
    • Performs other duties as assigned and all in a safe and effective manner


    High school diploma or equivalent required.  Journeyman credentials a plus.  Prior experience of 5-7 years in an industrial setting where they were classified as a maintenance person is essential.  Experience performing maintenance duties on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems is preferred.  Must have a valid driver’s license.  The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:


    • Knowledgeable and troubleshooting experience in the areas of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems processes
    • Solid understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance methods
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products especially Word and Excel, ERP, preferably QAD, and CMMS systems
    • Previous experience with managing inventory and the kitting of maintenance jobs
    • Ability work autonomously and with fast moving teams
    • Strong planning and organizational skills
    • Experience in continuous flow operations
